LIVE PROJECT UPDATE

FULL 30 SECONDS TO MARS ONLINE CONCERT is a project that has been in making for more than 1,5 years. Originally the idea had been in my head for years, but back in the days there wasn’t enough good recordings from concerts, to guarantee the quality and the amount of videos to keep the film interesting. Last year, I decided that it’s time. So, the project started.

First it took off a little slow, but then it got wind under its wings, and started going forward quickly. Then we hit some issues with technology and real life, and the project was forced to be put aside for a while. But now, I am more than happy to announce, that this project will be out on December 23rd, 2012. Christmas comes early to the Echelon!

The project is a full 30 Seconds to Mars concert, with over 20 songs and two hours of music, talking and everything that goes in between. There will be no cuts in the middle of the song, the video won’t end before the song ends, and you will get to see the whole concert from the very beginning to the final end. Every single second of the video and audio of this project has been recorded by a fan, in 30 Seconds to Mars show. There is ZERO audio parts from albums, or officially recorded videos. Everything is recorded by an Echelon.

And that is partly the whole point of this project; to show OUR VIEW of the concert. When it’s not recorded on HD cameras with super quality, from above the crowd so the camera isn’t shaking at all, it may feel a little distant. But with this project, you’ll get to feel all the movements of the crowd, when people jump, your view gets blocked sometimes, when they scream – it might be the only thing you hear, sometimes you hear drums more than vocals, etc. Everything is as authentic as you could imagine.

Unfortunately the quality of the video sometimes isn’t as good as it should be, there’s lots of pixels visible, but then again, what can you expect when the cameras are not professional, and you’re recording in a dark room with a lot of flashing lights. So it’s as good as it possibly could be, when recorded like this. Also, Youtube doesn’t allow huge files either, so I was forced to bring down the file size quite a lot in the end. But hopefully it’ll still be a great experience!

So, get ready to experience something you’ve NEVER experienced before. Keep your eye on our FB / website / Twitter / Tumblr, to be the first one to see the project.
Hopefully it’ll make it easier to wait for MARS return next year. Or maybe it’ll make you miss them even more.. Either way, I hope you enjoy the concert as much as I enjoyed editing it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, this is a gift for you. A gift for The Echelon.

Provehito In Altum.

UPDATE: LIVE-project

The editing is going well, slower and faster, depending on the situation with my health, but I’m hoping to get it finished during March. Can’t promise anything yet, but I’ll let you know when I know better. Now I still have some decisions to do with the order of songs and stuff like that, but I’m trying to get them organized as soon as possible.

To make the wait little easier, here’s a new trailer for the film. It’s actually a clip from the actual film, the beginning of the whole show. So go and take a look! Link here:

If you have awesome materials from Mars-show and haven’t sent it to the project, send me an email to echelonvideoproject@gmail.com and let me know what songs you have, so I can let you know if I’m still editing some of them, so you can send them to me to be used in the full film. Still taking materials to the project!

Happy Valentine’s Day Echelon! Love you all.♥

30 Seconds to Mars : FULL LIVE SHOW EXPERIENCE -project

Now this might end up being one of those never-ending projects, but I want to give it a try after thinking of doing this for ages!

Have you ever been able to watch a full concert online? Yes, you probably have. But has it ever had materials from several different concerts, with all the speakings in-between the songs and all the craziness and fun that there is? At least I have never seen anything like that! Wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to sit back and relax, put headphones on, turn the lights off and experience a full Mars-show from your own home? I would say it would. And that’s why I want to do this.

Yes, you understood right: I have a vision of creating a full-lenght concert from live-videos of Mars-shows during the TIW -time!

It will be a celebration of this two years -journey with This Is War, it will be a tribute to the band for their extremely hard work they’ve been doing, and it will be a change to experience the show like never before. Because I bet you’ve never been in several shows at the same time! Now you will have a chance for that. And for those who have never been in a Mars-show, this will open a brand new view for the show and make them live the show with all the people in the crowd. But I need help - lots of help.

So basically now I need you to send us all the live-videos you have from Mars-shows! YES. Not more or less than that!

The quality of the videos should be good, and if possible - very good. It’s okay if the audio sucks if the image is really good, or if the image sucks but the audio is perfect, because they will be used on top of each other anyway so I can just use only the audio or so!

At this point there is no deadline for this, because it’s such a massive thing to do, but I’m gonna keep you informed about how much materials I’m getting and does it start to look like I’m getting enough things for it.

Like I said before, the videos should be from the TIW-shows. It’s okay if you send videos of songs from the other two albums two, because the finished show will include some of those too. And acoustics are very welcome! Just pretty much everything you have from their shows is welcome, including all the speakings in-between songs and the beginning of the show and the end of the show and .. everything!

YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE RIGHTS TO USE THE VIDEO, don’t go and steal from someone because that’s just mean! Send only the ones you have recorded by yourself!

HOW TO SEND YOUR VIDEOS:

1. Pick the files you’re sending. There’s no limit for the amount, you can send one or twenty if you want!

2. Attach them to your email, or if they are too big for there, then upload them to megaupload.com (or other sharing-pages) and copy the download-link when it’s finished, write “LIVE” as a title of the email and then the most important thing:

ADD YOU FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, CITY/STATE AND COUNTRY TO THE MESSAGE.

If you don’t add them, I’m gonna ask you to send them anyway so I can credit you, so it’s easier if you add them already to the message when you send the files.

3. Send the email to echelonvideoproject@gmail.com !

WHEN YOU SEND YOUR FILES, YOU ACCEPT THAT THE ECHELON VIDEO -PROJECT CAN USE YOUR VIDEOS ON THEIR FUTURE PROJECTS. Not only this one, but for other projects too if they need live-clips. You will always get the credits at the end of the video.

This project will be done during the rest of the year, time spent for it depends on how much materials you’re sending, so more files -> faster publishing. :)

Spread the word about this, if you know someone who has great footage from their shows, send them this info so they can share their videos with us.

Thank you! ♥

xx

Sara
