FULL 30 SECONDS TO MARS ONLINE CONCERT is a project that has been in making for more than 1,5 years. Originally the idea had been in my head for years, but back in the days there wasn’t enough good recordings from concerts, to guarantee the quality and the amount of videos to keep the film interesting. Last year, I decided that it’s time. So, the project started.
First it took off a little slow, but then it got wind under its wings, and started going forward quickly. Then we hit some issues with technology and real life, and the project was forced to be put aside for a while. But now, I am more than happy to announce, that this project will be out on December 23rd, 2012. Christmas comes early to the Echelon!
The project is a full 30 Seconds to Mars concert, with over 20 songs and two hours of music, talking and everything that goes in between. There will be no cuts in the middle of the song, the video won’t end before the song ends, and you will get to see the whole concert from the very beginning to the final end. Every single second of the video and audio of this project has been recorded by a fan, in 30 Seconds to Mars show. There is ZERO audio parts from albums, or officially recorded videos. Everything is recorded by an Echelon.
And that is partly the whole point of this project; to show OUR VIEW of the concert. When it’s not recorded on HD cameras with super quality, from above the crowd so the camera isn’t shaking at all, it may feel a little distant. But with this project, you’ll get to feel all the movements of the crowd, when people jump, your view gets blocked sometimes, when they scream – it might be the only thing you hear, sometimes you hear drums more than vocals, etc. Everything is as authentic as you could imagine.
Unfortunately the quality of the video sometimes isn’t as good as it should be, there’s lots of pixels visible, but then again, what can you expect when the cameras are not professional, and you’re recording in a dark room with a lot of flashing lights. So it’s as good as it possibly could be, when recorded like this. Also, Youtube doesn’t allow huge files either, so I was forced to bring down the file size quite a lot in the end. But hopefully it’ll still be a great experience!
So, get ready to experience something you’ve NEVER experienced before. Keep your eye on our FB / website / Twitter / Tumblr, to be the first one to see the project.
Hopefully it’ll make it easier to wait for MARS return next year. Or maybe it’ll make you miss them even more.. Either way, I hope you enjoy the concert as much as I enjoyed editing it.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, this is a gift for you. A gift for The Echelon.
